Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann was born in Hamburg and is one of the best German show jumpers. The multiple German Champion, European Team Champion and World Team Champion has been running her own equestrian centre with her husband Christoph Zimmermann, an international horse dealer, since 2016. The approximately 4.5 hectare facility in Waldenau, a district of the northern German district town of Pinneberg, offers ideal conditions for the management and training of competition horses at the gateway to Hamburg.
Horses have played a major role in Janne Friederike Meyer's life from an early age. She was given her first pony at the age of six. At the age of twelve she took part in the German Championships for the first time. In the following years this talented rider won several medals and titles at state championships in the pony/junior division. She personally trained her first large horse, the grey Callistro from her parents’ breeding farm, herself. Janne Friederike Meyer can look back over a series of successes. She has won the German Champion, Team European Champion as well as Team World Champion titles many times. She was also victorious at many international Grand Prix competitions. With Cellagon Lambrasco, whom she affectionately calls "Pug" due to his stature, the show jumper reached even giddier heights. She still refers to the gelding as "the horse of my life” to this day. Together they won the Team World Champion title in Kentucky USA in 2010 and European Team Champion title one year later. This was followed in 2012 by their debut at the Olympic Games.
