QUAlity makes history - FROM A TRADITIONAL PLOW FACTORY TO A GLOBAL PLAYER

1867

Heinrich Röwer founds a forge for horse shoeing and wagon production.
In 1906, he invents an innovative plough made of steel and the factory becomes one of the biggest of its kind in Germany.

1928

Röwer launches its first trailer plough for tractors. The company meanwhile holds more than 100 patents worldwide.

1962

The original facility cannot handle the demand of the growing business anymore, thus over the years an office building, a production building, and a new warehouse were built.

1978

The young mechanical engineer Elfert Rüb acquires the company and founds the Röwer & Rüb GmbH. The product focus shifts to barn equipment and later to internal horse stables.

1989

10 years later, the company is specialized in internal horse stables. The product portfolio is further expanded by AluTeam show-jumping fences, round arenas and horse walkers, even though it takes about 20 years for the new products to achieve their breakthrough.

1992

Additional products are added to the Röwer & Rüb portfolio: loose boxes, horse barns, barn doors, and barn windows.

2000

The production facilities and office move to Thedinghausen as space has become too confined in Blender. The official opening ceremony is attended by everyone with rang and status in the equestrian world.

The 2000 sm showroom is opened.
Tests begin with bamboo as an alternative to hardwood.

2003

The Röwer & Rüb GmbH celebrates its 25th anniversary.

2006

The FREIMATIC horse walker is a best-seller: The 1000th horse walker leaves the factory.

2007

Röwer & Rüb GmbH founds the German Horse Industry (GHI) in cooperation with other companies and experts. The GHI offers concentrated expertise and know-how on a global scale.

2008

Dr. Andreas Jacobs and Rüdiger Deckert become new shareholders of the Röwer & Rüb GmbH in addition to Elfert Rüb and his family. Also, the production area is expanded by a new building to more than 100,000 square foot.

2011

The horse walker portfolio is expanded by TEOMATIC horse walkers and oval horse walkers. As well, exports keep playing an increasingly important role at Röwer & Rüb GmbH and we are nominated for the Lower Saxony's Foreign Trade Prize.

2014

Completion of the Röwer & Rüb product exhibition with a display area of more than 75,000 square foot.
