Family resort with tradition
What was once a farm is now a hotel that has been run for generations. At the Ellmauhof in the idyllic Saalbach Hinterglemm, families can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, alpine adventures, unspoiled nature and unforgettable experiences. One of the highlights of the stylish facility is the riding academy with its sustainable stable wing.
Dedicated to Haflinger breeding
The Schwabl family, who have been running the Ellmauhof for eight generations, have devoted themselves to creating unique memories for the family album. The family’s second passion is its family’s own Haflinger breeding stables with two elite mares. They are the heart of the stud, which has a total of 22 small horses. The riding academy is rounded off by Icelandic horses, a French riding pony as well as Shetland and mini ponies.

Accommodation with a feel-good factor
“When designing our stables our greatest aim was to harmonise the feel-good atmosphere of the hotel with the welfare of the animals." - Stefan Schwabl “Lots of light, a high ceiling and spacious stalls were as equally important to us as the best quality, as design obviously plays an important role in a hotel business of our calibre. We also made sure that we chose horse stalls that would look immaculate for many years to come and that would be easy to maintain." A total of 22 galvanised "Amsterdam" horse stalls were built, including indoor and paddock stalls as well as special pony stalls with lower fronts to provide a comfortable home for even the smallest members of the equestrian family.
Learn to ride in the Glemmtal mountains
Combined with doors, barn doors and windows from Röwer & Rüb, the galvanised horse stalls create a relaxed atmosphere in which people of all generations – and naturally the horses – enjoy spending time. In the riding academy founded by the family, well-trained riding instructors pass on their valuable equestrian knowledge and the hotel even has its own riding kindergarten. Riding in front of the picturesque mountain panorama of Hinterglemm – simply a wonderful experience.
Cooperation on equal footing
The Schwabl family not only runs the Hinterglemm family resort with great attention to detail, but also describes itself as "dedicated farmers". For this reason it was all the more important for the family to find a partner that sees eye to eye with them to build the horse stables. “Röwer & Rüb provided outstanding support during this project,” comments Stefan Schwabl. “Our contact Wolfgang Szedenik gave us excellent advice so that we could choose and design everything to suit our needs perfectly. Working with him was simply ideal!”
