The Kuckelke equestrian centre is located in the Holthausen district of Dortmund in an idyllic rural environment. In 1991 Wilhelm-Heinrich Kuckelke converted the former pig farm into boarding stables. The old pigsties were rebuilt and renovated, a new indoor riding arena and a new stable wing were built. The centre is run as a family business with a great deal of commitment and passion and is regularly modernised and extended. The Kuckelke riding facility therefore offers ideal conditions for leisure riders and dressage riders.
On the 85-hectare estate riders have access to an indoor riding arena, an outdoor riding arena, an exercise arena, paddocks, pastures and a lungeing arena as well as a modern horsewalker from Röwer & Rüb. The Kuckelke riding facility can currently accommodate 50 horses as boarders. The darling at the facility is the live-in Shetland pony "Pünktchen WK". As a former show jumper and horse breeder, Wilhelm-Heinrich Kuckelke attaches great importance to the well-being of his four-legged boarding guests. “You don't have your first coffee in the morning until you have fed the horses," he emphasises. All the feed of the horses is home-grown. The fodder is stored in a large straw barn and anything that is left over is sold.
