The Lechner family has built up a classic equestrian business on the northern edge of Nuremberg. The agricultural enterprise now has a new riding school and boarding stables.
Ann-Kathrin Lechner comes from a family of riders, is a horse owner and show jumper up to the advanced class. Her father was already a successful advanced class jumper. She was in the saddle from an early age and already competed in her first advanced jumping competition at the age of 14. The 33-year-old is now passing on her knowledge to her riding students. “Lots of children come to our riding school. They can learn to ride on six school horses, starting with the basics," Ms Lechner explains. “Some school horses are trained up to fence heights of 1.15 m, so that advanced riding students also have the opportunities that they need."
The Nuremberg police riding squadron has moved into twenty of the total of 38 stalls, and the spacious grounds offer the best training conditions. A riding arena with a footprint of 25 x 60 metres, the horsewalker with a lungeing area and two outdoor paddocks ensure that the mounted police and the riding business have lots of space. The surrounding landscape also has an excellent network of bridle paths. Directly adjacent pastures enable the four-legged and two-legged sports enthusiasts to relax and enjoy each other’s company in a natural environment. In addition to the Lechner family, two other employees take care of the well-being of the horses.
Peter Lechner supports his wife from the sidelines. His main occupation is running his parents' vegetable growing business. Their two sons are three and six years old. “Our eldest loves being in the water and will probably want to go swimming in the future, but the little one already enjoys sitting on the saddle in front of me and loves it when we pick up speed. He seems to start enjoying riding," adds Ann-Kathrin Lechner.
Four hectares of the vegetable farm were reassigned to the riding facility. The Lechner family has succeeded in creating a very beautiful and modern enterprise. We wish them all the best for the future!
