The central space can be utilised for other purposes, for example storage or for ground exercise with the horse. The horse walker can even be built around trees or other obstacles. If space is a restriction an oval horse walker can be built to make use of what room there is.

Oval horse walkers have benefits for both, for humans and for horses. A benefit for humans is that the unit can be built into narrower areas. And the training is even more efficient for the horses due to the increased amount of straight track.The horses are protected from the elements by a partial roof.
